Information for participants
The Summer School on New Ideas in Particle Physics starts on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 8.30 a.m.. The program ends on Friday, July 18, 2008, with the conference dinner. Departure is on Saturday, July 19, 2008, after breakfast. Participants accommodated in the Lyceum are expected to arrive on Sunday afternoon, July 13, 2008 . Registration takes place at the Lyceum Alpinum in the "Grosshaus" on July 13, 2008, from 4.00 p.m. until 8.00 p.m.
The Lyceum is an assembly of large buildings at the north-eastern end of the village about
200 m above the main road. The access road departs from the main road near a little chapel (see map of Zuoz). From the train station the Lyceum can be reached by a
15 minutes walk uphill.
As already known, most of the participants will be accommodated at the Lyceum where they will also have their meals. As the Lyceum is a boarding school, you should not expect very luxurious rooms. The bedrooms have hot and cold water and there are enough shared bathrooms and showers on the floor. Towels are available in the rooms (only one per person), but it is recommended to bring an additional towel. It is also recommended to bring shower gel, hair dryer, razor etc. and an adapter for Swiss plug sockets with you. Keys for the rooms are not available, but we never made bad experiences in the last years. However, valuables can be locked in the secretariat.
The whole Lyceum including the school area is a NON-SMOKING AREA.
Smoking is allowed only at the marked smoking area!
4. Car park
If you arrive by car, please use the area in front of the main entrance of the Lyceum only for unloading the car. For parking use the marked parking place.

8. Afternoon excursions
You may obtain a lunch box if you do not want to stay at the Lyceum for lunch.
Please put your name on the list at the dining room before the beginning of the lectures (8.30 a.m.) of the day in question. The region invites to go hiking or climbing. To watch nature and animals during a tour it might be useful to bring binoculars. In any case it is strongly recommended to have good shoes. This also applies to the group excursion planned for Wednesday afternoon.
Zuoz is located at 1.750 m above sea level. You are advised to bring some warm clothes. It can get cold (especially in the evening hours)!
