Abstract:
In this seminar, I will review basic concepts of out of equilibrium physics such as hidden phases and metastability. I will describe the new wavefunction engineering methods that have been recently developed thanks to ultrafast light and electron pulses and show how they can be applied for exploring the out of equilibrium phase diagram of materials. Specific examples will be the coherent control of topological magnetism and the out of equilibrium control of nuclear excitations.
